Happy Easter

The other night, after spending more time on paperwork than I had planned, I couldn't help myself. I should have been in bed, but I had not yet 'played' with any of my flea market finds, so I stayed up past a usually late bedtime and had my fun!
I scored these chairs from the most recent WildHare FleaMarket. I have plans to re-grace them, but couldn't wait to 'play' with them. Just imagine them in bare metal- against the wood table- oh, better! My booth had quite a few nests and a birdcage, so I was in the mood to put some out at home too. That birdcage, yes, I agree, amazing! I picked it up from an amazing lady's yard sale. The vintage tablecloth was a recent find. ( Apparently, ironing is not 'play' for me.) The nest my son and I found a few years ago exploring by a lake (it was old, dry & on the ground), it holds great memories.

Check out the pile of my other WildHare FleaMarket scores on my Facebook page. www.facebook.com/LivelyGrace .

Thanks for playing with me!

Happy Easter!

Post FleaMakret Thank You & Giveaway Winner

Amazing!  That's how I would describe the Wildhare FleaMarket, and the biggest part of the amazingness was all the lively folks that stopped into my booth!
 Thank you all so much!

This is how it initially looked;  then the amazingness swooped in, purchases were made, and the look of my booth quickly changed -yay!  If you stopped in later on Friday or on Saturday, my booth had a different look.  I'm a fusser and could spend a full day reconfiguring a booth, and certainly as items move on to new homes.  A big thank you to Danielle from Antique Recreation for snapping a quick photo of my booth, just before we opened on Friday.  I wish I had a photo of her booth.  I hope you were able to see it and visit with her.  She is even more lovely than her furniture!

I owe a big thank you to my "support staff" also.

This is my dad, helping me set up for my first ever fleamarket.  He hasn't missed one yet.  You may have even met him, either while he watches my booth while I'm out shopping (also a role my mom frequently takes on) or while he was out shopping and visiting with other vendors.  My mom is a wonderful support who has helped me scrub, paint, price, display, and yes, holding down the booth.  She has somehow avoided the camera.  And let me say, I have amazing in-laws.  Who else would scrub dirt off old wood?  Oh, that would be my mother-in-law.  Plus, those 3 truck loads I mentioned on facebook on the day we loaded into the fairgrounds?  Yes, my in-laws are wonderful people!

My husband avoids the photos too.  He is a big help behind the scenes and all throughout the year.  I now have huge industrial racks (yes- like the ones Home Depot uses to hold 2X4's) in the garage, just for organizing and storing the Lively Grace inventory.  Thank you!

And a thank you to the kiddo!  He's a great hauler, helper, and booth worker, assuring me he could independently run the 'square' card reader while I made the rounds at Wildhare this past weekend.  My how time flies!

A few of my favorite things!

Hi all,

I'm in full prep mode for the WildHare FleaMarket- just 2 weeks away!  Friday, March 22, 10-7 pm  & 23  9-5 at the Bannock County Fairgrounds!!  Entry is just $1, kiddos under 12 are free!

My current projects will be heading to the market, but I was hoping to get you in the mood for Fleamarket shopping by sharing some of my favorite finds.  Now, these lovelies live with me, and as favorites, I don't see these going to the market.  BUT, I pick what I love... And I am loving so many things I have in store for my booth!  I hope this puts you in the mood to hunt!

Oh, how I heart the contrast of orange and teal.  Add that to the opposing textures of metal and old wood? - I'm in!  This duo usually resides in my studio, but it is currently not in a photographic state ... it's in flea market prep messy state.

Vintage lockers with a fun story you can read here.  I couldn't pass up this shipping box from years ago with amazing hand stenciled typography when I came across it.  Imagine the stories it could tell!  The postage stamps are quite worn, I need to do a little research to see when those stamps were used to help date it.  Any stamp collectors out there?

This cabinet was one of the first pieces I painted specifically for our current home.  The metal basket is from a vintage shopping cart that I came across in Pocatello.  Here I go again with distressed paint & metal, this time topped off with a hint of typography plus a pillow for softness!

Another of my fav painted pieces is a vintage dresser than currently serves as our tv console ... and was my first try at using Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint, take a look here.

Well, I guess this part of the 'studio' looks somewhat tidy ....

And my big vintage window.  It changes with the seasons ... sometimes with more decorations, sometimes with less.  Right now I'm happy with a simple boxwood wreath and the chippy paint.  I'm ready for more green to sprout outside.
